Yeah, iPhone 4. I don't really find much degrade, if any, while driving. If I'm sitting still with the truck off I'm betting I could tell on good source material. And I'm no stranger to hifi so I know what "good" sounds like. I'm currently listening to my new creations as I type this. :D

Yeah the BT Audio sounds great in my setup. I stopped Sirius for Pandora. Especially since I got my AT&T Unlimited Data back.

Anyone get their contacts to import with the iPhone? I'm honestly not sure how to do it.

I'm not even sure how to get the transfer started. When I hit "Data Transfer" on the headunit it says Operate Phone and the phone immediately disconnects.

Yeah i dont think it is possible. I think i read some place on here that it has to be only the number and name in the phone for it to work. You have to be able to send contacts via blutooth...

Anyone updated their 4S to iOS 5.1 and no issues with charging or playing iTunes on the AVN726E?

Anyone interested in buying a SIR-ECL1 (sirius) adapter for this head unit? I have all brand new wires, but it is used. I bought it off ebay about a year ago used, worked fine for me. Figured I would post it up here to give you all a chance before it went up on Ebay...let me know...

    Thanks Slimwood Shady!

This is an old thread That I stumbled upon after buying an 04 Mercedes SL500 with a sweet Eclipse AVN726e installation. The info on the iPhones with lightning connectors was REALLY helpful. Now I can get my music and video off my phone as easily as with the old iPod. I was contemplating pulling the unit and getting one of the Chinese Androids but as I compared quality and capability I was less impressed with them. I'll probably keep what was a pro install that even has my steering wheel controls.

The built in NAV map situation is not that much better on the new units since they also use iGo and rape you for the questionable map updates. Google and Waze have made factory NAV a bit pointless , especially when you have the great Bluetooth connectivity that the Eclipse provides. The Eclipse allows me to save a few bucks a month on Sat Radio/XM since the app on the phone streams content through the car.

The install on a Mercedes - and probably any car built after 2002 - is difficult and you need to replace your Amp and ALL your Speakers and wiring! No plug and play job. You will get a lot better sounding system and the cost will be less than repairs of the factory head unit.
