    Cool! I think I may cut out my jack holder and get a box with these deminsoins and put it behind the passenger seat. That way I will have the air space and can put a 12'' in it. I may could use this box, just seal up the port. What do you think? 17.75in long. 13in high. 13.5in sub face. 4in top depth, and 7in bottom depth.

    That's irrelevant since you're talking about a brand again and not the actual product in question. The Ford GT keeps up with Ferraris so that means the Ford Focus MUST be awesome.

    To answer your question from the other post. The BM will be ok in .46 cubic feet. Just stuff the box with a lot of fiber fill.

    What about the sound stream? Is it a good sub? And what about the box I have, would that be ok if I just seal up the port, or sould I just get a good sealed box?

    No way in hades a Kicker L5 sub will fit in a box that small. Not happening.

    I'm not entirely sure if I would trust the JL 8W3 in that box either. It needs about .75 cu ft I think to work to its potential.

    While Rockford isn't bad, the only subs they make worth a darn are the T series, and those are way to big to fit his box.

    Don't limit yourself to just what you mentioned.

    The Pioneer Shallow 10" model TS-SW2501S2 (or S4) will work great in .45 cu ft of airspace. You can find them for less than $200.

    Any of the Image Dynamics 8 inch models will work great in that size. The ID10 will also work if you take off the cover over the magnet.

    Ultra Subs has a great 8" sub that will work. They are relatively new, but the owner/founder/designer is a former engineer for Precision Power, so the quality is there.

    ^if an ID10 will fit with the magnet boot taken off that would get my vote.

    I have a 10'' mtx in that box right now. For the L5 its mounting depth is 4.75in. And min requirement is .33qu.ft max .75qu.ft for a sealed enclosure. According to sonicelectronix.com. I know it would be a very close fit but I think it would fit.

    ID8 = 4.75"
    ID10 = 5.5"

    Thats with the caps over the magnet per ID's website. I don't know depths without the magnets.

    I think it's just a rubber magnet boot. Should slide right off I'd guess.

    Any more suggestions? On the shallow mount 10'' subs any suggestions on which one would be the clearest sounding? I dont care how loud the bass gets. Im looking more for clean crisp bass not muddy sounding bass. Same thing goes for the 8'' sub. Any more suggestions? Thanks.

    What about Dayton subwoofers? From some audio forms they say they are a very clean sounding sub. Is this true???????

    Dayton Reverence and HO subs are very very nice. Not sure if the depth works for you or not.
