I got my "new" front speakers put in today. They were first used in our 2002 Suburban so they're not completely new but they're new to me and they're pretty nice speakers. The speakers are MB Quart DKD 116 Discus-Line 6.5". I ordered the baffles from Marv and after he shipped them out I received them in a very short amount of time. Me and my dad started the install this morning at 11:00 and finished at abt 2. We had no problems until towards the end when we couldnt figure out we were supposed to bolt the speaker/baffle to the door because there was no way to get your hand behind it to tighten the nuts. So I decided to call Marv and he knew exactly what to do. Without him, I dont know how would've figured out the solution. I had to put the baffles on first, then install the speakers after the baffles were on the door. Here's a few pics i took with the cell phone so yes I know they're blurry.

Very clean install man. Im big on car audio and love watching people hook stuff up. I got some subwoofers and did the "big three" upgrade today.

Is 6.5 the stock size for your door speakers?
    How well did everything fit?

    BTW-nice wooden platform

Thanks man, the stock size is 6x9, so thats why i had to get those wooden baffles made for me to fit the 6.5". But everything fit perfect and Im pleased with the outcome.

No ive only put in those 2 fronts and a headunit. More than likely i'll stop right there because it gets pretty expensive after that. But the sound quality is very good and gave me a much better treble and bass. Like i said in my first post though, we only ran into that one problem. Everything else went very smooth

Nice man, I always loved the clean install feeling. No short-cuts, nothing that makes you worry.

Im thinking about getting a pair of speakers.

I hate to ask more Q's but was the Treble volume noticable?
You ran them off of your cd player power correct?

    whats the power rating?

Yeah it sounds really clear, and of course its adjustable on the head unit so i can have it sound like i want it. And yes the head unit is powering the speakers. The power rating is 50-120 Watts

    Looks great... nice work.

I've never worked with Mr. Marv, but every time I see or hear his name... there is nothing but good things said. If I ever need anything, he will for sure be getting my business.

I used ********* and I had no issues. I guess I was one of the lucky ones. I ordered the front 6X9 and rear 6.5 speaker install kit. Only thing I didnt do was order the dash kit. I got that from Custom sounds.

BTW clean install looks good.

Nice, and glad to see you installed baffles to keep the speakers dry.
