Installed a poor man's video setup in the Taco this weekend.

Head unit is a Clarion VX409 that I picked up for $199 shipped. Monitor is a Mobile TV 8" that I found online for $70 shipped.

My girls love it, and now I don't have to worry about getting pulled over because I have it playing on the head unit within my sight...

The head unit has a video out wich goes to the monitor's control box. From there, a single video cable is run behind the head liner out the dome light opening. I wired the dome lights on the monitor the same as factory, so they come on when you open the door, and fade out after you close the door.

That's exactly what I want to do. It's just the price of a new HU and an overhead DVD player was going to get expensive. I found a site for the Mobile monitor for that same price.

How do you like the quality of the Mobile?
Does it seem decent for that price?
What controls do you have at the monitor?
Is there an input to plug a game unit in?
Did you get any wireless headphones for it?

Other DVD players I have seen are around $500, but they are stand alone.
    Thanks

20" rims, pioneer 4200 DVD, 2- 11" screens in head rest, 2 jl 12w1s, jl 1000/1 for subs jl 300/4 for highs. Alpine 6 1/2" components in front and Alpine 3 way 6 1/2" in back. Also bunch of other stuff to come as time permits.
Looks good brother. How hard was it to install. I was thinking about getting something like a 10 to 15" flipdown. But I also like the way headrest monitors look. Found some universal headrest with 12" monitors. While I was playing around.
