Rear speakers for d cab?

I don't run any in my rear doors. I read somewhere it's a cleaner sound with out.

I'll try and explain this the best way I can without sounding like too much of a nerd.


Music is recorded in STEREO which means a left and right channel signal. It's recorded like that and is meant to be played back the same way to sound it's best. The idea is to use a left and a right channel to give the illusion of a "sonic image". This means you can visually place the singer, drummer, or whatever else is in the song by way of where they sound like they're coming from.

Simply put, have you ever been to a live performance where half the band was in front of you and the other half behind you? It would sound unfocused and plain wrong. So don't do the same thing to yourself in the truck!

 

I run rear seperates for video. =) But for better SQ, its all about front staging.

 

I have cheap pioneer 6.5's that i got off Amazon for like 30.00. I like the sound better, i like being enveloped in the music. like i am standing in the middle of the stage, not in the crowd.

 

Makes perfect sense to people once you explain it to them. I don't run rear speakers in my vehicles either for that reason. A wise car stereo guru explained this to me back when I was about 16 years old and have followed that advice ever since.
