Factory Equipped Satellite Ready Radios for the Tacoma

Anyone know if Toyota is ever planning to offer a satellite ready radio for the 2nd Gen Tacoma. Just purchased an 08 D-Cab, and was disappointed Toyota offers Satellite radio on most of their others models, why not the Taco?????

I was disappointed to.....so i found one on Ebay...just search "2008 Tacoma"
and you should find one. Intergrated Solutions is the name iof the store.
Plugs right into the back of the HU....Text comes thru your display just like factory. Plus it has Aux so you can play your ipod/mp3 player.

I think I'd be interested in trying this thing out, as long as I hear positive reviews from anyone on this site who has it.

i've an 09 with satellite capable head unit at least every body tells me it is from the window sticker, owners manual, and so on,but nobody has been able to tell me what kinda tuner and interface i can use on it,not even my toyota dealer, the dealer talked to toyota rep today and he had no answers.integration solutions did say their unit definatly will not work. other than that they tell me its not been tested yet

No need for a satellite radio.

I use an XM Roady 2 and it transmits to an unused station. Took 10 minutes to install.

You can get an XM receiver and transmit it to an unused radio station. I use 88.1fm. The Antenna is a magnet(carwash proof) on the passenger side of my roof. Ran the wire down the windshield under the weather stripping, inside the passenger door, under the dash to the center console. Used black electrical tape to hold the wire in place in the door jam & under the dash. Works flawlessly. Great when traveling, I never have to change stations. I've had XM for 3 years now.

Many people, including myself, are not fans of the transmitter type due to lack of sound quality. Here in Dallas, it is hard to find a station that is free of interference. A hard wired option just tends to sound clearer to me rather than the transmitter option. If you don't notice the difference or don't have the option of hardwiring, then there is really no big deal.
