factory jbl question

my truck has the 6 disc changer. does that automatically mean i have a jbl system?

 

How could one tell if they have the JBL system? Is the Amp and sub visible? Are we talking about the 2009 model? Would they have the JBL decal on the speaker grille? Does it vary from the single cab, extended cab, and Double cab? Enough questions from me for the moment.

 

Well that sucks because my paper work says that I have the jbl system but I don't have the emblems on the speaker nor do I have a sub, or external amp.

 

It's an upgraded JBL system on the '09s

 

Ok then what would the 07 JBL system belike? I don't have any buddies that have tacomas that I could look at.

 

IN my '08 the JBL label is on the stereo although small. There is also a JBL label on each of the doors over the lower speakers . The sub is mounted behind the right side rear passenger. If you pull the plastic cover off of it it would look like this:

 

Thanks Pretty sure I don't have that. Guess they pulled the wool over my eyes on that one. Not that it was a selling point just added benifit.

That's how I looked at it. It was not on the list of items I was looking for but I fell in love the this truck and it was one of the installed options so I took it.

I don't have a problem with the stock sounding system, I was dissapointed when I thought it was the JBL. lol. Now its not so bad.

 

yah my paper work has jbl on it also, but i dont have an amp or any badging. those damn whores

 

Then they may owe you a refund. If it's on the window sticker, then you paid extra for it.

 

I would be contacting the dealer and see if they can offer a solution, either a refund of the difference or perhapse upgrading the stereo.

That is for sure, but you know they well tell you that the paper on the window isn't exactly what the truck has. You will as then what is it for? They won't have an answer. Been through it before but not for this. May check them for this they'll wanna run the vin and it'll say it doesn't have the JBL.

 

im just more pissed off about the fact that i accidentaly bought the jbl harness for my new alpine head unit that i didnt need and it was an extra 80$. sons of bitchez!!
