I would like to somehow mount my motorola xoom at my HU kind of like how these guys do with the Ipad - soundman car audio

I like how this is nice a flush, and somewhat looks like it belong there. does anyone know if anybody does or can make a "plug and play" unit for a motorola xoom to fit into a 2010 taco?

if you can find an audio docking device for it with some kind of stereo output, there are a few ways that you can go about wiring it to the factory stereo.

That iPad wasn't a "plug and play" type install. It was a complex (and for what I remember expensive), custom work thing. I doubt you will find anything so easy that you can just clip it in and go.

Yeah thats what I figured, maybe I should just get my AUX plug fixed and find a mount to mount the xoom near it and just plug in the head phone jack

I picked up a dash based mount for my Xoom. It came yesterday and I installed it.

It's the padholdr RAM dash mount for the 2nd gen Tacoma. Works for most 10 inch android tablets and also iPads.

Slip out your environment control panel. A thin small flathead screwdriver works or anything with a thin edge you can pry or wedge it lightly with. There is a clip at each of the 4 corners that holds this panel in place and it doesn't take much force to pop it free. You don't need to worry about unhooking anything else.

Pull gently on the wiring to get enough slack to let the panel hang free of the opening where the dash mount will be installed. Position the mount bracket, which is specific to the model of vehicle you're mounting it in.

Screw it into position with the supplied self tapping screws. A power screw driver or drill makes this much easier than doing it by hand.

Put the control panel back in. It just slips in. There's a little binding with a tab on right most part of the control guts that rubs against a screw head. It's not enough to stop it from going in pretty easily, but is something I'll probably file down a bit for a better fit.

    [IMG][IMG][IMG]

There's an adjustable lockable arm that mounts to the bracket and a tablet mount that attaches to the arm, but this is the way I'll leave it for most of the time. I'll mount the arm and tablet bracket for road trips and back country navigation. But otherwise, i think it creates too much temptation for a break in.

Here it is all mounted up for GPS navigation and such.

You could just as easily pivot it horizontal if you prefer.

From the driver side, all the dash controls are still easily seen and reached. It doesn't infringe on the passenger space either though it does block some of their access to climate controls.

By default, the arm mounts with hex head screws and bolts on the back. I'll probably swap those out for some thumb screws and wing nuts so its easy to mount tool free.
