I just wanted to thank all of you that assisted me with putting together a system in my 2012 dcsb. Here is what I have on the way.

    Pioneer AVH-X5500BHS
    Alpine KTP-445U
    Polk DXI6500 component front
    Polk DXI650s rear
    SO B-8pt subwoofer

Should be installing it in about a week once all my accessories (Metra isntall kit, steering wheel interface, usb interface, cables, speaker wires, etc) get here.

will post pics once the install starts.

    Thanks again :)

Looks like a great system! As long as you don't want to thump so the neighbors hear ya, the alpine and the SO sub really add some great sound.

    Thanks..

I have seen some question as to whether the Scoche kit actually fits the contour of the dash on the 2012. that is why i went with the Metra. If it doesnt work no big deal I can always get a scoche kit and see if I like that better.

Pics will be posted soon as I start the install!!

I used those same speakers in my '09 after a pair of Alpines blew. The Polks were much better, you should be happy.

when you install the metra you might want to use your stock clips to make it a lil tighter

No worries I will post progress in this thread. I am waiting on the dash kit, interfaces from sonicelectronix and speaker brackets by Mr. Marv, I am hoping that they show soon it is killing me just looking at the equipment sitting in my closet.

TenBeers, I am excited to install them. I have heard them on a sound board but know that it will sound different in the truck.

Beachtaco, thanks for the advice, will do!

Here is the wiring harness I created. all connections are soldered, heat shrinked and taped. Isolated the power adn remote wireing from the speaker wires. added wire loom to prevent wiring from going everywhere. still need to add the steering interface to the wirharness but will do that following install and test of the AVHX5500.

Have the amp and AVH X5500 roughed in. Installed the ASWC-1 steering wheel interface and tested, all functions of the steering wheel worked perfect. Synced phone and tested the X5500.

For anyone who is deciding on getting a deck and getting speakers later let me tell you there is a huge difference with just the stock speakers. I cant wait to hear the difference with the Polks and SO B8pt. I am hoping to get the speaker brackets and the parking brake bypass tomorrow so I can complete the install.

OP I got a question for you, how does your new unit sit?

I put in the Pioneer AVH-x2500bt and for the life of me, I cannot get this thing to sit level! I do not have any other wires to deal with other than the wiring harness (no steering wheel controls or XM devices) - I neatly tuck the bundle up and out of the way, into the little cavity at the top, and when I tighten down the mounting bolts, the head unit twists slightly.

It seems that the top left corner sits slightly higher than the top right, making the whole unit sit at a slight angle. I have removed the mounting brackets, used the ABS plastic ones that came with the Metra kit and same thing. Anyone have any ideas?

Mine is still roughed in and not fully installed yet, That being said I did notice that as well. I am currently using the stock brackets and was able to hold them as I torqued the retaining bolts in. by doing that I was able to make it level. I verified with my dash kit that this remains level. I also found that if i do the left top first then right top, then left bottom and right bottom it helps. not sure why but it worked.

Finished running all of the wires it wasnt to bad but doing it in upper 30 deg weather tends to slow down progress and require alot of hot coffee breaks..LOL It looks good so far in eng comp wiring looks stock and is not noticeable. here is the wires run I will take another pic once complete.
