    I am waiting on the Metra install kit, USB and Steering wheel interface and the parking brake bypass. I chose the X5500 due to the larger screen (7" WVGA) and the motorized faceplate. there was a couple of other minor preferances such as the design, for example the buttons on the bottom.

    I also chose the X5500 over the PXXXX due to its compatability with android phones. the X3500 is also a good choice just with a smaller screen and a slot on top of the deck for CD'S/DVD's

    Why not do the AVIC-Z140BH. I bought mine for like $988 when it first came out. I saw them sell for the $5-600$ range on eBay new or even lightly used. Should be fine...

    It looks just about the same as the 5500, I didnt get to deep into it so i dont know exactly whats different with it but............... That price is out of my league right now for and audio system. If im spending money I dont wanna buy something used and I can get the 5500 on ebay brand new for $350 ish. Thats half the price of the AVIC-Z140BH. If I was a big audio guy I would spend the money for it but I juat want a good DD that does what I need thats all. Thanks though for looking out

    Yes. I do a lot work from my truck and I put the cork board on to hold receipts for a week or so then file them. It's my office on wheels and back woods transportLove it!!

    If you dont mind me asking where did u get ur parking brake bypass, usb and steering wheel interface?

    ordered them from sonicelectronix. It was the only place where I could find the usb interface. Another difference is the X3500 has 2 volt pre-amp, the X4500/X5500 has 4 volt.

    Difficult to answer without you telling us what's important to you... BT, HD-Radio, iPhone support, Android support, screen size, screen detachable, etc. etc.

    I bought the 4300 a couple of years ago. If I had to re-invest now I would probably go the 4500 or 5500 route as I want 4v pre-outs, HD radio, Apple and Android support, and the 7" screen. Not as concerned with BT, AppRadio, or a detachable screen.

    I want the 7" screen, DVD,CD, Android support, good sound output, tilt adj. screen, and thats about it idc about everything else.

    That helps. Good Android support pretty much pushes you to the x500 line, so now you've halved your list.

    If you are planning on or already have an amplifier to install then hands down the X4500 or greater. The 5500 pretty much is the same as the 4500 but adds SiriusXM and HD radio. agree sounds like you have pretty much eliminated the P-400's.

    I just installed the avh-x4500bt last week and love it so far. Does everything well. Did the p/b bypass that I got off Amazon for 20 and spent more but got the pioneer usb/iphone cable for 50. Did the scosche dd kit and fit was great. Went with the 4500 over the 5500 cause i don't have sirius xm and heard mixed things about the hd radio. I will post some pics in the thread i started when I get a chance:cheers:
