2011 tacoma radio wont turn on

i pulled out my 2011 non jbl head unit to try and swap to a jbl head unit but it wouldnt fit. now im trying to put the stock headunit back and in and it wont power on. i checked for loose wire/terminal and connections but cant seem to find the problem. the clock still turns on. maybe my headunit took a dump? any advice would help. i dont have money to pay a shop at the moment. thanks
