I've got the knock-off Riverhawk B-60... 15ft long by 60" wide. People always freak out the first time they get in it... Until they realize how stable the boat is!

I run a 25hp Johnson and it's done 31 mph with just me in it. Which is flying when you are only a couple feet above the water!

You are correct. I have had many memories with this Greenoe.
It is at least 26 years old.

Not mine but my Dad's. Always a good time going out to Havasu with him. Can't wait til summer!

Havasu is the best. I get to go boating by day, wheeling by night. Can't wait to see if my truck is able to keep up with my dads.

    This is his:

My older than dirt Sears Gamefisher 12' fiberglass boat I picked up yesterday. Too broke for a inboard or outboard powered boat at the moment so I am starting small! Any tips on rowing? This is my first boat so I am all new to this game. Also, I noticed yesterday when the boat was in the back of my truck upside down, I leaned on it for a minute while I was talking to the guy and later noticed really bad itching on the bottoms of my arms, obviously fiberglass fragments stuck to me. Would repainting the boat put an end to this? I hate fiberglass itch and don't want to deal with it on the water fishin' and drinkin' beer!

Also what are the laws on wearing lifejackets? Are they required at all times? Seems kinda silly to me if I have to wear one in the boat but don't if I'm out freely swimming in the open water. It seems unnecessary too, it takes special talent to sink a rowboat I'd think, or fall out of one. I could be wrong though.

It varies from state to state and on the type and size of watercraft. You usually have to wear one if you are "under way" (moving) and under 18, but some areas are more strict. You must have a flotation device though. Check your boating regs to learn more about this and other stuff.

The PO gave me some old lifejackets he wasn't using. It is the law to have one on board for every soul aboard the vessel. I got 2 and that should be enough, I wont take more than 2 people on this little boat at once. Naturally my wife is pissed off about me buying a boat, she gets mad at everything I spend money on haha.

I took the boat out a couple days ago and made sure it wouldn't leak, had a good time but suck at rowing and need to practice big time. I took a picture of my dog Stormy riding in the stern section, she got tired of following me around on the lake so I helped her aboard. My other two young dogs kept swimming though, they are young and healthy haha. Might go out again tomorrow but for sure on Sunday.
