Wow, I thought you were joking looking at the title of the thread,
I guess fishin is fishin, but I sure hope you don't try to eat carp. To me its has always been the trash fish. I guess you can always put a little grass on the hook.
Good luck with that.

Grew up right near Reading PA. my friend who i bowfished with in Vegas is from Illinois and he always talked about how good the bowfishing is there. good luck dude.

Also check out AMS Bowfishing online. their Retriever Reel is the best setup you can get for a compound bow. i have had the same AMS reel for over 10 years and its still going strong after many times of being dropped in the water and thousands of shots. i run 45 pound draw and that seems to be the sweet spot for bowfishing, helps get some of the longer and deep water shots you cant get with a recurve.

I had one too (gloomis) but it was white and didnt match like I wanted. But no, I love catching carp when I'm not bow-fishing. They fight so hard and are really understimated fish. Carp I would say are second to the CA Shad (aka poor mans tarpon)

my parents once cooked up a carp. i was shoveling it in when they told me. i admit, it tasted just like every other white fish i've eaten.

boney? nope..black bass is bonier IIRC.

i used to catch them on rice crispy treats. we would wear full camo and stalk them and look for the tail action..quick quiet cast and they are a handfull on lighter equipment. i almost broke a brandnew GLoomis rod with one..

no way. i have eaten carp and they taste like mud and fish oil. i used to throw them on a pile out in the desert and then shoot the coyotes an raccoons that would come to eat them. my friends dad in PA used them for fertilizer in his garden. thats about the only use for them in my opinion.

Bow! Fuck yes. I hunt with a now and finally bought a new one so I dedicated my old one for carp shooting. Didn't take pics last year but we slaughter them. I'll take some this year for sure
