Transporting Fishing Kayaks with your Tacoma?

I'm planning on getting an Ocean Kayak Trident 15 for saltwater fishing. For those who already have a kayak, how do you transport them to your favorite fishing spots?

 

I have an Ocean Kayak Prowler 13...I've transported 3 at a time, all 13-14 ft long fishing yaks. Get a bed extender that plugs into your hitch. I bought mine at Harbor Freight. I'll give ya a linky:

 

And I have a toolbox in my truck as well...plenty of room once you put on that extender!

 

Lol they fit fine! The bed extender has tie down rings as well, so I throw a ratchet strap over the back and secure to the bed, then one over the front and secure to the bed extender. I had pics on my old phone when we had all 3 loaded on the way to mosquito lagoon. I'll snap one next time I take mine out.

PICKUP TRUCK BED HITCH EXTENDER RACK-LADDER-CA​NOE-BOAT











I use a hitch mounted pickup truck bed extender bought on ebay for about $100 delivered. The one I bought handles two Kayaks easily and came with nice quality orange flag to hang on end of Kayak. Takes me 10 minuted to mount it in hitch, load Kayaks/gear and go. Lowest cost method and works fine (unless you intend on doing some significant 4 wheeling to get to your kayak location because it does reduce your approach/departure angle when mounted. No problem on any normal roads. Search pickup truck bed extender on ebay.

Big plus is you only have to lift Kayak to bed floor height, not over your head.
