    I am just getting into fly fishing
    I have a Ross essence fc 7'5 4wt rod and a cheep pass me down reel.

    Can someone recommend a line for trout fishing on small rivers

    Too many to list, and I've probably forgotten a bunch.
    7 1/2" 4wt? I wouldn't load it up with anything more than a WF 4wt. I'm partial to the Orvis Wonderline for trout. Memory can be a problem, but I've found it to be really abrasion resistant.
