Wish I would have taken a pic of my 6 lb walleye :(

Would have been a river record for here...and probably would have stood for a long time. Instead, I weighed it and released it. Stupid.

Nice walleye. I've only caught two and three pounders but they were darn good eating.

Some states have catch and release length records -- all you have to do is take a picture of the fish plus get someone to witness that you measured it correctly. You might check it out for your state.

Floated the river today. Got a MAJOR sunburn, and caught some good fish. Only caught 12, and my buddy caught 13 or 14, but not one of them was under 13". They were all good fish. I kept 6 for dinner (for me, and for a friend of mine), and the stringer weighed 7 lb 3 oz.

I thought I saw a tag on that fish. I used to teach fisheries technology and have tagged many a fish. It's hard to get tags back and we would try to give some kind of reward as an incentive; nothing monetary as we didn't have the budget but something like a donated wildlife print. We also used various other tags and marks including cold branding. If you catch a hatchery salmon in the Pacific Northwest there's a good chance that there is a tiny coded wire tag in its nose.

I took another pic close of the tag, could read the numbers well. Turned the info including weight and size to the ranger, no reward but a smile. They weren't supposed to be biting in that heat (last year), dude was surprised I caught it...

Took one of my daughters, her 8yr old brother (not my doing) & my granddaughter fishing the other day & I happened on this in one of our catch and release ponds sprinkled around in the neighborhood. Frozen weiner for bait no less & on the last cast before leaving. Everyone caught perch & a coupla turtles but this was a surprise, didn't think anything that size was in any of these "lakes". Yes, I did throw it back....way high so it made a big splash. Woulda made a nice lunch but have to follow rules for example for the crew I was with. Kinda sucked tho, lol. Guessing it was good 3-4 lb......Cool for just a quick, free, closeby trip tho.

I fished almost all day yesterday with one of my friends. I decided we should try to catch some crappie instead of bass and as soon as we got out there the bass were tearing it up. Wish I would have brought my bass stuff. But we still caught a few keeper crappie but sorry guys no pictures!

I'm sorry :( I didn't think about it.. I was trying to teach my friend how to throw a spinning reel and how to fish correctly and it slipped my mind.

Speaking of no pictures, because I was just going to get on you for not taking pics. I just went fishing again with my 2 kids. I did catch about 4 bass, 1 keeper. I quickly realized the when I have a 1 year old on my back in a kelty backpack carrier it make fishing with a bait caster which is already hard enough even harder.
