Hahaha well u havent met me i think i take more pictures of my truck/outdoors then my fiancé dose of her clothes and jewelry

But i have never got the chance to explore out west yet. I plan to and hopefully soon. And yea dont you love making the perfect cast and then hanging up in a tree or weed along the streams edge!! Its a good way to ruin a great hole lol. I have been known to cut my leader and string up a new one if the hole looks too good ☺️

I am going to try and get a summer fly fishing taco trip in the west. You should join! Just waiting on my summer job to figure out when I can do it and how long. I think we all take more pictures of our truck and outdoors :p. Hell, I haven't added a facebook photo of myself since october of 2013...but my dog, truck, and scenic views have been regularly uploaded.

    You'll be hooked!
I still have a spin rod and use it for certain types of fish (walleye/perch) but there is nothing like catching a fish, specifically a trout, on a hand tied fly with fly rod!! So awesome!

Needless to say its gunna be hard enough to get away to a local stream in the evenings haha. But when thinks clear up i would love to plan a trip with some TW guys

You should! It can be hard to get use too but if u have determination you will pick it up in no time. And trust me its addicting!

The sole connections have all been solid . I am careful of that little button on the back that holds the sole tab on. I have heard from one guy that he snapped it off on a rock in a stream. Guess he got his foot wedged & twisted that button off....not good . The side connections have been very good .Like I said no problems in three seasons. I use the rubber sole in lakes & Ponds & the rubber with Studs in streams . The felt sole in streams in states where it is not against the law. when we transport on a river in a boat to wade fish ,I use the plain rubber or felt so I don't scratch up the boat. Rubber with STUDS in saltwater .
Now if the ice would melt !

I know! Been a bit warmer last few days. I spoke with the guy that does the fishing report on the Orvis website (forgot his name) a few weeks ago and said it shouldn't be too bad in another week. As long as it doesn't melt crazy fast and start roaring... My buddy drove by the other day and said he saw some open running water so I think in a week I'm going to try it.

Thanks for posting those pictures! That second one looks close to (but isn't) the falls dumping into the boxcar hole on the North Fork of the French Broad.

I had Yancy, Mitchell and Transylvania counties on recruiting duty and fished all 3 but spent most of my time fishing Transylvania. There are more than a few waterfalls in Transylvania county LOL and many people don't know where they are. Which is a good thing it means they don't know the waters or fish them either. I've caught brookies in the North but there is a very narrow range in the Southern Appalachians to catch true specks. Have fun!
