i can easily tell you how to get 24 volts or 12 volts out of your two batteries but in order to have both you either have to install an elaborate switch system or rewire it every time you switch..

again...never heard of a switchable voltage motor.

if its a 24volt trolling motor...

take positive from motor and run it to positive of battery A.

take negative from battery A and attach it to positive of battery B

take negative of battery B and hook it to negative of trolling motor

for 12 volts.

hook up positive and negative of trolling motor to 1 battery.

then run a jumper from each terminal of battery A to battery B
positive to positive and negative to negative.

If you have a choice of DC voltages to run you motor, you are better off with 24 VDC using Deep Cycle batteries. If you also need 12 VDC for a radio or depth finder, you can "half tap" the 24 VDC batteries. For more information and a diagram, please see section 7.3.5 in the Car and Deep Cycle Battery FAQ on www.batteryfaq.org.
