    looking to get a decent surf pole($150 max) with reel. what brand should i look at?where to look for them for the best deals beside cabalas and basspro. far from a pro and can catch sunnys no matter where i go.its pretty sad.lol thanks for any info.

    Added a Tool Box, rear spring TSB, Weathertech floor mats, Emergency lights,
    ugly stick by Shakespeare has some really good rods, thats what i use for the beach here in texas. as far as reels, i have a badass Shimano spinning reel that i use with my 7 foot ugly stick.

    yeah stick with Shimano, Shakespeare, Penn, or Dawai and you will get decent quality.

    i have never had a problem with shimano or Shakespeare. i did have a dawai spinning reel that worked for a year or so then crapped out. saltwater kills everything here

    i always use shakespeare ugly stick rods.......no matter what fishing im doing. get a good heavy one for surf.
