First stop from the airport: Ship Creek

First Red, on a fly out trip to Lake Creek. My first solo trip without my dad, he was stuck in Anchorage on business =)

Most painful fish of my dads career, he had a finger underneath the spool and it got sucked in when the fish took off with the hook


Later, when our Halibut trip got cancelled, we made a day trip to Homer

The next day, went for Kings on the Kasilof ~35 lbs

Two minutes after i took this picture I went to wash my hands in the river and the ground caved in beneath me. Needless to say I was cold and wet and my camera was TOAST. Luckily all the pictures were safe on the sd card

And i decided to get this camera for next time, waterproof, freezeproof, schockproof, bulletproof

Nice, looks like alot of fun. I can't wait to move up to Camas, Wa so I can get back into freshwater fishing.

 

No they ended up putting us on the fly out trip to the Kustatan. We drove by one of the commercial places and picked up about 25 lbs before we left tho. Ended up saving like $300 and our arms. Halibut fishing is brutal

Looks like you had fun, when are you coming back up? The salty dog rocks, had some fun evenings there

 

im hoping that I'll be able to make it back up this summer. But with college orientation and the added expense of tuition and my dad retiring, I dont really see a 6th trip happening. Maybe we will find our way up atleast to British Columbia because my moms tired of getting left at home and she wants to see Victoria Island.

great pics and im so jealous...I went on a great pike n walleye trip a few years ago and can't wait for the next one.

Definitely get that camera. I have one and took some awesome underwater shots in the bahamas during spring break. Not to mention it still works after it got launched out of my kayak when i flipped trying to ride a wave in.

 

I fished the Kenai in 98. Best vacation ever! Nice pictures.
