jon boat advice?

Well since i have been gettin into this thing that is called fishing a lot lately i have been thinkin about getting a jon boat with a little trolling motor to power it. anyone have any advice on what to look for, is aluminum or fiberglass better? what about the trolling motor. what would be a good size for that?Thanks

 

I've go a 12' aluminum and love it! i use a 34lb thrust troilling motor. check craigslist.

 

A 12-14 ft jon boat is all you need, an aluminum boat will be easier to find, cheaper, lighter, tougher and have a little less maintenance. If you go with a 12' then you really don't need a trailer. As for a trolling motor, something around 34-40 lbs of thrust will be fine, remember the bigger the motor the faster it kills the battery....
