I have a 2000 Johnson 50HP with a bad power trim. We purchased a new power trim to replace it, but are having an insanely hard time trying to get the bushings that hold the rod to the engine. Is there a special technique or tool to remove these things? We will be bringing it to a mechanic to install, but would like to keep the labor to a minimum.

I am linking the schematics and it is parts 55.
