Trail Armor
   Bumpers: Kennesaw Mountain Accessories The Front and Rear bumper fitment is very accurate with very minor shimming and aligning required. Installation was quick and easy. Weld quality, strength and overall build quality is excellent. The bumpers are stout. Paint finish is really good. Quoted lead time was 6 weeks and both bumpers shipped exactly on time. Front and rear bumper with fogs plus a bolt-on hitch was $1250 to my door. I would buy again from their shop and they were an incredible deal. Customizations: Front shackle mounts moved to 45 plate, bolt on rear receiver hitch, 5" front lights. Note: the shackle mounts are designed for 7/8 shackles, not the typical 3/4, unless you ask for the modification. Sliders: Demello Offroad heavy duty round bolt-on sliders, semi gloss powder coat. I should have insisted on bare metal finish and painted them myself to match the bumpers. The finish wouldl look better and be easy to toouch up. I slammed down on them pretty hard and they performed well for being bolt-on.

Suspension, Wheels and Tires
 Font Suspension: Light Racing Coilovers These are rebranded Icon Vehicle Dymanics coilovers. The increased spring and dampening rates allow me to run no anti sway bar permanently. I bought a 3rd coilover from ToyTec to swap in during the rebuild process, which is typically required on 2 year intervals. IVD rebuilds coilovers on Tuesdays only and a typical rebuild is $60 each. Mine were $100 each (needed new shafts), plus $25 each to ship them to CA one at a time. Return shipping was included in the rebuild price. It took a full 2 weeks between the time I shipped each coilover and received it back so there was no way my daily driver could sit that long. A 3rd coilover made sense for my needs.  Rear Suspension: Old Man Emu I bought the rear suspension from www.trdparts4u.com. The Dakar’s ride very nice and flex very well. They handle loads excellently with very little droop. A few months after the install, I pulled both leaf packs off the rig, tore them apart, removed the 3rd leaf from the top, lubed all contact points like a Proctologist's finger, and put them back on the rig. That lowered the rear 1/2 inch which gave it a more level appearance and an even softer ride. It also had given me an additional -2 degrees of pinion angle, which cured a 50mph vibe I've been attempting to fix for almost 2 years. Qty: 1 PN CS047R Set of 2 Dakar Leaf Packs Qty: 2 PN N182 OME Rear Shocks Qty: 4 PM OMEU53A OME U-Bolts Qty: 4 PN 90389-A0003 Toyota bushing kits (2 per side) Driveline: 1 piece Single Cardan Driveshaft I would definately buy the double cardan if I could do it over again, and I wouldn't buy it from Tom Woods, enough said. I worked out the science of both style driveshafts and in my case, every source stated that a 1 degree more negative rear flange angle compared to the front flange angle, would be ideal. Experimenting with shimming the rear axle at various angles is costly and a lot of physical work. I was not willing order more shims to keep pushing the rear pinion angle more negative because that seemed crazy. It is by pure accident that I had nothing better to do one day than to tear my leafs out, break them down to pull the 3rd leaf from the top to lower my rear 1/2 inch and ended up curing the vibrations. Special thanks to Roger Brown at www.4crawler.com for advice and custom shim angles. Wheels: Dick Cepek DC-1 17x9 I bought these from www.4wheelparts.com and an extra discount for buying while I was on the phone with them, so the price was unbeatable. These are polished aluminum DC-1’s and are 17x9 4.5 Backspace -12mm offset. Tires: Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ 33x12.5 I bought these from www.4wheelparts.com using their price matching guarantee, $211 each plus $100 for shipping. They are fairly quiet on the highway, only mildly louder than my Nitto TG’s. The factory siping is designed to give them impressive performance in the rain, soft snow, and hard packed snow covered roads. I haven’t had the opportunity to try snow yet but they’ve handled dirt, rocks, mud and rain very well, better than any tire I’ve ever owned.  Cab Mount Mod: A to Z Fabrication www.atozfabrication.com is famous for their jeep products and builds and they are a local fabricator to me. They did an awesome job on the cab mount cut and welding and only charged me $150. I highly recommend them and will give them all of my future custom fabrication work. Pinch Weld Mod: Courtesy of my sledge (BFH.) I painted all of affected metal to prevent rust.

Bed Projects
 TireGate Flat Carrier: Safe and secure, it has a steel braid security cable included. Installation was quick and easy but requires drilling the composite bed. If the loss of bed space becomes and issue, I'll consider a custom swing out tire carrier, but I'm not fond of that extra weight hanging back that far, plus the length increase and visibility deacrease. I run the tailgate net for extra visibility on the trail. Jerry Cans: These are/were available at www.garrettwade.com. The cans pour fast and don’t leak. The mount is solid and secure and is the perfect height. I have the 20,000LB recovery strap and extra D-ring bolted to the jack using some screws, u-bolt plates and wing nuts (not listed below) for easy access. Qty: 2 TSS PN 0175326 Equalizer Qty: 2 4 1/4" x 1/2 Hex Head Bolts (jack bolt with wing nut) Qty: 4 3" x 1/2 Carriage Bolts (rail bolts) Qty: 4 1/2" Nuts (rail bolts) Qty: 2 1/2" Wing Nuts (rail bolts) Qty: 4 1/2" Collars with set screws (2 hold each jack bolt in place and act as spacers) Qty: 14 1/2" Washers Black Spray Paint for a clean finish Access LiteRider Tonneau Cover: I bought the tonneau from www.mvpautoparts.com for $298.45 and free shipping with a 12% online coupon. I have full access to the rails and cleats. The installation weakens the load capacity of the side rails due to 1 inch spacers that push the rails away from the composite bed. PN 35189 Toyota 2005-2007 Tacoma Double Cab with 5' Box  Snowboard Rack: The snowboard rack uses the Thule Bars and Mounts plus TK-1 pads, along with the mounting accessory hardware bags (custom ordered) from the roof mounted Thule rail kit. The roof mounted rail kit hasthreaded flange nuts and the installation tool to install them in to the sheet metal under the plastic bed side covers. Once installed, the flange nuts expand and lock in to place, creating a threaded insert in the sheet metal. The Tk-1’s are then fastened to the metal with longer screws.     Bike Rack: The bike rack uses 2 Thule load bars cut to custom length and attached via L brackets from the bars to the OEM Cleats. The bike carriers sit at a perfect height so that when not in use, they can be covered with the tonneau cover. I've carried 3 bikes and it works well.

CB, Electronics and Audio
 CB Antenna Adaptor: (the wire is an impedance matching ground wire)  CB: I bought the Cobra CB from www.claysradioshop.com with the peak and tune option, plus 18’ of high quality coax cable. I bought the Wilson Flex from www.wearecb.com along with the AR1A matchmaker. The excess cable is in a serpentine pattern inside the truck and not coiled. I fabricated a custom mount for the Wilson 3’Flex antenna to install in to the OEM antenna mast mount. The antenna bends up to 180 degrees. I cut, spliced and soldered my CB antenna cable to a short lead I left behind on the factory antenna mast under the fender. I did have to use the built in grounding wire to lower the impedance to improve the SWR down to 1.5:1. I have a Firestick ARA1 Matchmaker splitter (not installed yet) to receive AM/FM signals through the CB antenna plus a DC power noise filter. The CB is bolted to a metal flange behind the over head console with 2 bent L brackets. I think it is kick-ass having the CB mounted up there. It is easy access, out of the way and very easy to use on and off the trail. The mic is on a retractable cable and I can wedge a mic clip between the console and roof liner to secure it if I wanted to.
