Here it is.

2007 Toyota Tacoma Access Cab 6-speed Manual 4x4 with the TRD Off Road Package. Got it in May of 2007 with 40 miles on it, from American Toyota in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The picture above is the oldest one I have of it. The only mods were the BHLM, and a billet grille.

My next mods were a lift and tires...

Went with a 3" Revtek, and 285 Terra grapplers with Moto Metal rims.

Threw in a K&N drop-in, and removed the secondary air filter as well. It feels like the engine breathes much easier, but in the future I'm going to swap it out with a Pro-Dry. One time I opened up my intake to clean the filter, and I guess I over oiled it the time before, so tons of filter oil spilled down my engine, headers, and to the ground... It dripped for a day or two. I feel lucky it hasn't messed up my sensors behind the filter yet though.

A year later, the Revtek wasn't doing it for me anymore. I went with the basic Fabtech lift, and fell in love with its stance and look. In the picture below, I also added 35" KM2's and the Flowmaster American Thunder dual exit exhaust system. Its a 50 series, dual out muffler (You can see it coming out the side). I chose to black out the billet grille, and ATTEMPT to color match my chrome grille surround. Came out so-so. Took the badges off as well.

Just haaaaad to test out the KM2's. Also added some Bilstein 5100's to the front for more lift because I didn't want to do the body mount mod at the time.

Time to clean it up..

Sooo, I got tired of the American "Thunder" system, as it wasn't enough of a thunder for me. Threw on a dumped 40, and like it much more. Still need to add a turndown to it.

Also gutted the y-pipe cats.

For this one, I carefully took off the attached sensor, and undid all the bolts. I sawed it in half w/ a reciprocal saw, and carved all the pumous and cotton out, and welded it back together. Looks OEM because the heat shield covers the welds up perfectly.

This one was much more simple... I took it off and shoved the skinny end of a pry bar down there until it was completely cleared. Beat everything out of it and then bolted it back on.

A slightly deeper and louder tone was noticed.

Took a vid to post up. I was just driving casually so you could here it as it normally is. Sorry about the horrible quality, and my shaky hands. I had to shift while I filmed.

Hmm, what next?

Well, I hate how slick the plastic in the bed is. Everything slides around, including my toys...

Honda 230 trail bike.

and my dog...

Poor old girl would slide around everywhere in the bed. She's a 10 year old German Shepherd named Tina.

So, to fix my bike and dog problems, I added some bedliner to the composite plastic. It adds grip and feels much more tough!

Time for a new front bumper.

Thank you Steve and Brant over at CBI, this thing sure is a head turner and I absolutely love it!! I get compliments on how sweet it looks all the time. You'll also notice that in the pictures below, I blacked out the chrome accents on my wheels, and that I blacked out the rear bumper.

I've been thinking... Why have 35's if I can't completely stuff them??

Frame cutting here I come..

Took the guard off the grinder and started cutting away. For some parts I used my reciprocating saw, as it was quicker.

Took some hollowed out tubing and cut it in half. I then pryed it open, and beat it towards the "flattened- arc" shape I wanted... more or less. Tac-welded it on, and proceeded to beat even more! Then, I grabbed my cheap-o harbor freight mask and got to work.

Here's the finished product, sorry no write-up pics. I'm too lazy to do all that.

Painted a couple coats of flat black Rust Enamel after it cooled.

Even took the sway bar off, and I can STUFF these babies completely.

Bedlinered the bumper... here's some pic of the texture it gives. I am very happy w/ the look.

Now, that the swar bar is off, I wanted to go test out the new flex on my rig, and my buddy Dustin wanted to pick up some sandstone rock for his yard.

Off we go.

Added some Bushwacker's

The fabtech AAL was sagging from hell, and I wanted some extra height to match the billy's up front. So, I added the toytec AAL. I love it because it completely eliminated that horrid squeak. The Toytec AAL comes with pads ontop to reduce that... the fabtech was just bare metal... no pads.

First big snow of the season, so a friend and I went up to Sandia Crest to play around. Just a short little vid.

Dropped it from 7.75" back to 6". Too damn rough of a ride..

So,

FINALLY..

As it sits today, the 23rd of October 2009...

awesome rig man. Quick question for you, do the bushwacker fenders increase the clearance from the tire to the bottom of the fender? I grab on my stock one all the time and was wondering if it would help with that.

Nope, to be honest, I think it makes your clearance worse in the front because they're more bulky than the stock TRD's.

Before I bought them, I was wondering the same exact thing as you were. I was hoping they'd add clearance, but nope.

So, I was disappointed when I had to trim a corner off the bushwackers a week after installing them...

lol, exactly..

I felt sick to my stomach and guilty. But now that my frame's all plated back up I don't think about it too much.

I've been looking at the thick cut 4.56's because I think they will be more practical than 4.88's for daily driving, and I won't have to switch out carriers either. I should have the money in a couple more months, hopefully.
