I have a 2001 R6 that I am looking to sell. It currently runs great and has track plastics on it and is ready to rock. There isn't any oil or coolant in it though due to winter storage. Anyway, I am not ready to part it out yet and would like to sell it as a complete bike. For street use it would need headlights and the nose fairing. You can probably pick those up for between $150 and $200. It comes with all the track plastics (and a weird colored spare bottom track fairing that I wound up with). It also comes with all the street fairings except the nose piece. Motor pulls sooooo hard and it runs great. Here are a few things that are on it:

    Yoshi exhaust
    K&N air filter
    Ivan's jet kit
    Manual cam chain tensioner
530 chain swap (-1 in the front)

I used it as my track bike this summer so the entire bike has been rebuilt. Also, valves HAVE been done since the bike just passed its major service point.

It has tires that have plenty of road life left in them (dunlop q2's) and you could do a few track days on them too but I think you would want new tires to get the full potential out of the bike. Has nearly new brake pads in the front as well as fluid. Calipers have been cleaned too!

The carbs have been cleaned, rebuilt, Ivan's kit installed, and synched. The front forks have a fresh rebuild with 7.5 weight oil in them. The sag and suspension is all set for a 170 pound rider. The suspension work was done by Matt from salt lake city motorsports. He is a really smart guy and made my bike come alive in the corners.

So there you have it. It is a clean machine that is ready to rock. I don't have pictures of it with the track plastics on it because I am in the middle of painting them. However, I have attached a few to give you an idea of what you get. If you really need to see them I can sit them on the bike and takje photos so you get an idea but for the most part all track plastics for the 1st gen are the same.

I am willing to take offers but for the most part am pretty set on price. Also, I would be willing to work out a delivery with the purchaser if need be but it would be on your dime. (In other words I will deliver it or drive a certain distance if need be but you pay for it)

I am currently located in Missoula, MT. I am asking $2300.

Nope, it is a 530. It originally came with a 532 on it and the person before me switched it to a 530 for the ease of finding chains and sprockets. I thought he was wrong too when I got it but as it turns out it is a 530 and not a 520

nice bike man. I had a 1999 r6 and it ran like crazy. You get that motor singing and its insane. I've got a 2009 GSXR 600 now, but still dream of my old bike. It sucked to see it get wrecked.

Yeah it is a great bike, so damn fast once I finally got the carbs tuned right. It is definitely a screamer.

I can vouch for the 2001 R6. That was one of my first sportbikes and they are extremely easy to tune. The power is raw and on that carbed machine, and mine easily pulled on newer model GSXRs and R6s with nothing more than a jet kit, tune, and slip-on exhaust. I regret selling my R6, and honestly if you were closer I'd probably pick it up from you. Anyhow bump for a GREAT bike.

Yeah it'll be sad to get rid of it, but I found a new track toy that I just can't stop wanting. So I have to say goodbye I'm afraid :(

sweet bike I was wishing it was a little closer to tax season. Do u have any more pics of your bike. I have been looking locally for a bike to commute to and from work. which happens to be 150 miles a day. I really tired of putting all the miles on my tacoma.
