'08 Kawasaki Ninja 250R - $3000

Up for sale is my ’08 Kawasaki Ninja 250R. This bike was purchased in June 2008, has 5270 miles on it, was broken in according to the Owner’s Manual and has never been dropped. Oil was changed per the manual and after the first change switched to AMS Oil full synthetic. There is a slight scratch on the exhaust can, just behind the rearset. Other than that this bike is perfect with a DIY fender delete (not pictured). Just needs a new rear tire (~$100). This was my first bike and I used it mainly for commuting. I loved averaging around 60 mpg but I need something a little bit more comfortable for my ride to work. Title-in-hand, asking $3000 firm and will deliver within reasonable distance. Man when gas was at $4 you could get $5,000 for that thing. I know I was looking when gas was high.... its on its way up now

 

my buddy just picked up a 91 500..thats not bad for what it is. Cant imagine commuting everu day on a 250! how far did you have to go?

 

32 miles of mostly highway. 1 gallon of $4 gas got me there and back though! I see they hiked the MSRP on the '09 up to $4k. Mine was still ~$4200 after tax, title, destination and setup fees and that's at an MSRP of $3500. I think we might see a wave of super efficient single passenger transport in the near future... Prius' and Insights are great but for 1/3 the price I can have 10 times the fun and get the same fuel mileage!

I'm moving on up to a Suzuki SV650N. Fairly comfortable for commuting but plenty sporty enough.

I think the 08-09 GSXR 600 is the best bike for a beginner that wants to start on a supersport. It has the 3 modes aka "Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (S-DMS) ... A-B-C... A mode is 100% of the power and is crazy quick for a noob... B mode feels the same as my Ninja 650r after cleaning & lubing the chain/sprocket and changing the old black oil to fresh oil... C mode feels like a Ninja 250r... the R6, CBR 600 RR, ZX6R, Daytona 675 and older GSXR 600 are harder bikes to learn on since they don't have the "Dumb-Down" B and C modes... those supersports can launch a noob from 0-60mph into a brick wall in 3 seconds when over twisting the throttle...

That is an awesome feature on the GSX-R. Wish it was around when I was learning.
