Highway miles are easy on any vehicle. My mom's '07 F250 has 130k on it and runs perfect still.

I so sick of this crap. No offense or anything to you personally, but what on earth gives people reason to believe new gens are any less dependable than first gens? There are no numbers out there that suggest this, only unreliable "friend of a friend" or "what I saw" anecdotes, which are not in any way meaningful.

Not to play devils advocate, but I do think that people assume that because the second gens have only been out a few years, so we have no idea what to really expect out of them. The first gen Tacoma is known, by everybody (not just Toyota people), as being pretty damn reliable.

I think my truck will go to atleast 200K.

I see what you did there.

    And ಠ_ಠ

Fixed that for you. And based on the fact that Toyota's reliability history is as bulletproof as their vehicles, I have NO reason whatsoever to expect less than 300k out of my taco with proper maintenance.
