Guys I am selling my 88 Toyota SR5 V6 Pickup 4WD. I have owned it for the last 4 years, and it was my daily driver up to May of this year when I bought my FJ. Truck is Red with a green bed (just in time for X-mas) and the interior is very clean! The truck has 290,XXX, when I bought it the orig owner said toyota replaced the motor when the head gasket blew the motor (round 75,XXX) I purchased it with low 200's on the clock.

    The Good
I recently (1/07) rebuilt the top end of the motor. At that time I did a valve job, new valves, valve guides, water pump, decked the heads, new gaskets, cap, rotor, wires, plugs, coolant hoses, power steering pump, starter, and rear brake lines.

Also over the course of ownership I rebuilt the transmission and new clutch. At that time I replaced 1st and 2nd gears, as well as all the syncros and input shaft bearings with parts Marlin crawlers. The reason for the rebuild was the truck was starting to pop out of 1st gear as a result if the worn out bearing on the input shaft. 4WD system is in good working order, never had any problems with it.

In addition to the above, I also installed an add-a-leaf kit to fix the ride height of the rear end. Also installed is a complete bed off of a 91 Toyota Pickup.

Tires have 3/4 of their life left and also have a spare in the bed of the truck. And as you can see in the pics I have installed a Pioneer CD head unit with and aux cable to plug in an MP3 player.

    The Bad
The truck needs a new emergency brake cable. I purchased one from advanced but it was not the correct cable. I just have not taken the time to get the correct one. The wrong one comes with the truck. Also when I bought the truck in needed a new starter, and since then I have replaced it a second time. The truck seems to go through starters every 2 years. What happens when the starter goes bad is the truck does not turn over and you have to tap the starter to get it to kick over. Not sure why this happens about every 2 years. Starters run about $80. The sun roof has some cracks but has NEVER leaked. Fuel gage works, but the needle drops after it gets below 3/4 full. Empty light still works though, so you dont have to guess when its empty. Truck gets 16-20mpg depending on what and how you drive. Also it has a stumble between 1K-2K. This is a result of a bad TPS. I tested it with a multi meter and it has a dead spot. Doesn't effect driving
