your truck should be pre-wired for the hitch. I would go to Honda (sorry) for the wire harness. It is MUCH cheaper than Toyota and comes with a 4 pin besides the 7 pin. I screwed mine up and went to an online parts store for Honda Pilot.

Pre-wired, huh? No shit. I'll have to look underneath tonight to make sure. Where do they tuck the harness up into?

Also, do you have a Honda p/n? I've only towed once, and it was a rental trailer behind my rental truck. What are the differences between the 4 and 7 pin connectors (don't tell me three pins, lol)?

A four pin is for basic turn signals and break lights. The 7 pin is for the same but with the addition of trailer breaks and backup lights. After I broke my harness (which was only a 7 pin) I bought the 7 pin and 4 pin from honda. it's 2 separate plugs mounted side by side.

Sorry to ruin your day, but seeing as you have a regular cab, which is always a 4 cyl. Your truck is not going to be pre-wired.

The required part numbers for hitch and 4-flat wiring harness are in the towing bible which is stickied at the top of the towing section.

Regards,

Adam

I looked through the bible last night, good information. I figured it was too good to be true. Oh well...

Still, if anyone has any parts they want to get rid of, let me know!
