WTB: 2004-01 Tacoma Double Cab 4x4

New to the community... thought it might be cool to try and find my Tacoma from within.

WTB: 2001-04 Toyota Tacoma
  • Double Cab
  • 6 Cylinder
  • 4x4
  • Low Miles (0-70K)
  • Excelent Condition
  • No Mods
  • No Rust
  • Prefer to find one within Texas or surrounding states

I'm already financed, know the market value of these trucks and am ready to buy.... up to $18,000 budget give or take.

Tips or direct leads would be greatly appreciated!

I know... I'd found the perfect truck but it sold before I could sell mine and get all my financing in order. Now it's long gone and I'm searching like a madman with no wheels.

Searched autotrader extensively... as well as ebay, motortrend, edmunds, kijiji, and craigslist.

My budget is FLEXIBLE BTW.

With unlimited miles in the autotrader settings, there's two.... one is an Xtracab with 149K miles and the other is a Doublecab with 105K asking $15K.

I'm willing to wait and pay top dollar for a 70Kish or less miles Doublecab. I want to be driving this truck 10 years from now.

These trucks/car aren't worth the trouble of negotiating, asking questions & expecting honest answers, etc... These dealers don't have to be honest because their typical clientele doesn't care.

I am keeping an eye out by searching specific legitimate Toyota dealers and large name dealers in Houston, Austin, & Dallas.

I know... needle in a haystack. I'm sharing a car with my wife until I find one... or go crazy trying.

Are you seriously going to spend $18,000 on a truck that is almost 9-12 years old? I can't even imagine making $400/month payments on a vehicle that old, Tacoma or not. Most banks won't touch that vehicle and even with excellent credit you're probably at 9%. You're honestly better off financing a new one with warranty at 3% for 72 months and no worries about repairs.

I just gave the Toyota Dealership $500 to finalize my offer on a Magnetic Gray 2012 Double Cab 4x4 V6 w/TRD Off-Road Package, Tow Package, Daytime Running Lights, & Tint. My payment won't be much more than had I stuck with my original plan. It's due to reach port in 7-10 days.

So.... my search has ended.

I'd have been all over this truck a week ago! I can't believe you haven't sold it yet. If I was rich, I'd buy it and the 2nd gen I just finalized numbers on.

Thanks anyway for hitting me up.... if my new 2nd Gen deal falls through for any reason, you'll be hearing from me.

smart move & congratulations. You're gonna love it!

thats the exact truck I just bought at the end of May. Get a good deal? After the negotiating and the rebate my final price was $29,900 before trade in and TTL. they sold it to me for $400 below invoice plus the $500 rebate.

I paid $30,100 after rebates before TTL. I guess I paid $200 more than you... still feel like I got a good deal.

Did you get an Automatic or Manual Tranny? Mine's Automatic.... I wanted the Manual but it wasn't available. Plus, according to Toyota, the Auto gets beter gas milage.
