WTT Hood and give you $200.

I know that everyone does it...here we go again. I need a sport hood for my 2006 silver offroad dbl cab. I would need it to be a match; silver streak for silver streak.

My location is central ga. I will be willing to pick up or meet within 100 mile radius.

Why does everyone want a sport hood? I have one on my speedway blue, but it's not that cool. It's not even functional unless you get a supercharger or do custom work. And if you get one just wait till you pass a semi doing 65 on a two lane road. You will think your hood is going to rip right off. It catches all that air.

I bought an aftermarket scoop hood from Parts Channel for only $155 (wholesale). The regular hood was also $155 (wholesale), hence my splurge. Both are made by Gordon. These parts are CAPA Approved and every bit as good as OEM, IMO. The crucial parts that are intrinsic to safety are patented by Toyota and only available OEM at high dealer prices. I then needed the "hood bulge" as Toyota referenced the part description on my order. I could not find this part aftermarket and had to get it OEM from Toyota for $90 with a discount. This is simply the trim insert that covers the hood skeleton. I painted the hood myself but the bulge came factory-painted india ink pearl. So, yeah, you can't just get the scoop or bulge unless you are a master with sheet metal or fiberglass or you like those Lund stickers I see a lot of domestics with. I have seen some people wanting to trade regular hoods for scooped ones but everyone seems reluctant to do that. You will most likely pay retail ($310) from Parts Channel unless you have an industry hookup plus $115 for the bulge. I don't know if a non-functional scoop is worth the $425, but I could justify the additional $90 I spent. You may be able to sell your stock hood on eBay to someone doing auto body repair. Good luck!
