Its a pain in the ass for 05-08 with no wires. The 09-12 have existing wires in the Tacoma to hook it up to. Even if you don't have that camera from the dealer.

If you're a 05-08. You're better off going after market as running a wireharness and making it work will cost more in the end.

Buy the OEM Handle with an option for back up camera and place a aftermarket inside. Then run it to a Head Unit. You win with a bigger screen in the end.

Judging by the picture. The wire harness missing is the one from the Mirror to the Lower Dash. The the Lower Dash to the harness in the tailgate (PICTURED by OP). That alone believe it or not is $450 from the dealer! Wires I tell you. . .

You're better off if you really want this to find the wires at a junk yard or have a guy fab one up. . . Then the time and effort will cost $$$ in the end.

    Aftermarket I tell you. .

awe, its not that hard is it?! i used a gentex mirror w/ an oem camera with mine. i ran pwr/gnd/signal wire to the gentex mirror, ran one of those 5 in 1 wires (dont know the official name) from home depot from the camera directly to the mirror and i was off and rolling. took me less than 30 min to run all the wires adn hook it all up.

now, using the OEM mirror might be different, but supposedly gentex makes the OEM mirror, which is why i went with it. i say if you have the camera wire harness plug and the mirror wire harness plug (or even if you could get one from gentex) i will be an easy mod!
