    I'm going to mount Yakima cross bars across the bed and use this on top of the bars so I can carry even carry more crap.
    It attaches with the Yakima might mounts either with rack on top of the bars, between the bars or below the bars.

    But can you mount more bars on top of the basket once it is already attached to crossbars?

    The Yakima racks are fairly light-duty. If you want a good, super-cheap rack, check out Surco. Love mine (though I did have to add several crossbars, as it is minimalist at best).
