Looking at an 02 Prerunner w/ 4cyl automatic, 189k miles, guy is asking $7800. No mods, all stock. I thought the price was kind of high for the miles, but the truck is in perfect condition and all maintenance has been kept up with. He is the 2nd owner but has taken extremely good care of the truck inside and out. I haven't had a chance to drive it yet because he lives about an hour away... he offered to meet up halfway but I don't want to waste his time unless I'm pretty sure I'd buy it.

Am I right in thinking that the price is high, or do you think this is fair? He said it may be negotiable, but I don't want to lowball him.

Go to KBB.com, get the bluebook value. Get the VIN and request a Carfax report so you can get history. Those two should give a baseline on value/condition of the taco.

its not a horrible price for that truck....I'd offer him 6400 and go from there...if he sounds game then go drive it make sure your a 100%, but don't offer him the money! Just say Im incline to spend no more than 6400 and thats granted it drives well and has no issues. Get on some common ground on price with him before waisting each others time. GL on your find

For a 4 banger prerunner with almost 200000 miles, that's way high
