HD DVR Vehicle Dash Cams

I guess if you get pulled over you could just say "For quality assurance purposes this traffic stop may be recorded"

And then the cop says "Wha?" and you say "Hello officer, how are you today"

 

Hey I just spoke with my friend and yes you can set the unit up to record video only. Setting needs to be made prior, cant be made on the go ( like if you got stopped you wouldnt be able to stop audio right away )

 

Can these be set to turn on when power is connected to it and turn off when it's disconnected?

 

That's how mine works right now. ( I just have it plugged into the 12v plug )

 

I was just reading the news online about the metorite that hit in Russia. There was a link to a few videos. Some of them were obviously from dash cams that happened to be rolling as the thing crossed the sky then hit the ground. I think it was a message to me to buy one of these now. PM on the way...

I've had mine for a couple of months and I am addicted. I am at the point now where I'm really uncomfortable if it's NOT turned on (I need to hardwire this thing somehow since I have the 12-volt anytime mod).

On a couple of occasions I left it on all night and it didn't run the battery down or anything. Now that I'm over the novelty of looking at the videos (I have mine set up to record in 15-minute segments and it loops every few hours) I just leave the SD card in and hope I never a reason to pull it out and download the video.

I need one for my wife's car and one for my daughter's car...

 

Do you have any in stock right now?

 

Really good product, been using it for awhile now with no problems. Simply just plug into 12v and set on windshield thats it. Definitely recommend having a high class SD card. I was using a lower one and recording wasn't as good as what I have now a class 10 SanDisk

 

Alex, ur buddy got some of these in stock right now? I been looking for something like this but just never pursued getting one. Now seems like a good time .

 

Subd. These seem pretty awesome! just curious, do they record sounds? I watched the videos and none of them had any. Also how would these be for offroading?? pretty secure on the window?

Yup sound was removed from the videos just for privacy. I've driven off road with mine attached to the windshield without any issue.

My buddy at work was t-boned Saturday; completely destroyed his Acura TL and put him in the hospital (he's out now and okay). 45mph both ways intersection, he was hit so hard his car was thrown over the curb and he actually ended up hitting a diesel pump in a gas station on the corner of the intersection; he's EXTREMELY lucky. He says he KNOWS he had a green light, but the lady that t-boned him in a Mustang claims her light was also green.

Another case that makes me glad I have my dash cam rolling footage wherever I go.


I don't have any pictures of the car, but I did swing through the gas station he said he hit later that day and snapped a pic (conveniently a 2nd gen in the background, lol)
