P.S. 1st Gen Taco hood light kit How-To has already been recorded. Just waiting on my best buddy THE TRAVELER to edit and put it together for me.
1st gen was easy, but the stock hole I used wasn't nearly big enough and I had to drill to make the hole bigger.
Oh and I did the whole thing with a russian accent, which I'm kind of regretting now. If the accent is too much please let me know, I'm already on the edge of doing a voice over for the whole thing.

Yeah but I think it may be a little too much. LOL. If everything goes as planned though at least this how-to will be moderately funny just to watch. I tried to make it as funny as it is informational.

A little difficult the first time i did it but check this out, when I did it for 06toyoboy's 1st gen the other night I tried pushing the wire through by itself from outside the hood. The wire was thick and strong enough that It stayed straight and I saw it peeking through on the inside of the hood, then grabbed it with a pair of pliers. You can just sort of push and pull but don't force it too hard or the wire will ball up and won't go anywhere.
    Worth a shot!
Once i had it through, it wasn't in the right area so i pulled up some slack and fish it through different parts of the hood structure to get it where I needed it.

OK cool. And when you stuff the wires in the cross members they don't come out

haven't yet. They've peaked through but I use a credit card to push them back in, sometimes cramming a little double sided tape at the spots where it peeks out helps.

light output is awesome. The only thing I did different was routing my wires. I routed straight down the side. Kinda tough do to the support mount cushions in the way but used two flat head screw drivers and wiggled the wires thru.

Damn it Dane, figured I would get done first. I had a lot of trouble getting the striker to line up so had to fiddle with it the longest. Could not for the life of me get the wire through that back hole to where I could grab it so I went with the easiest plug and made it look semi factory.

Dane how far did you have to put the striker up? I had to go almost all the way up. Like 3 thread from bottom.

Easiest and best mod so far if you ask me. It is bright enough to light up my whole garage from front forward.

Ya it was hard to get it fished thru the hole. Used a coat hanger. Ya mine is almost towards the bottom as well. I fiddled with my striker as well was trying to get it to turn off when the hood isn't fully shut.
