for sale Panasonic CQ-VD6505U
I'm considering selling my Panasonic CQ-VD6505U In-Dash 2-DIN 6.5" Widescreen Color LCD Monitor/DVD Player. This does not have navigation. here is a cnet review: http://reviews.cnet.com/car-audio/pa...-32575465.html
I'm looking for $300 shipped. I also have the Ipod hookup cable that would go along with it. From what this goes for online, i believe thats a pretty good deal. It works perfectly. Just selling to upgrade.

Yes you can, all you would have to do is pull the heater control panel out. I hard wired it into the fuse panel with a fusable link and ran an external antanea since it sits below the dash. The only thing I would have done differently is use a little shorter screw or epoxied a bolt on the inside of the panel so you could just screw it in there. Congrats on selling your stuff!! |

It is alot more stable. I had mine set up like yours for awhile but every time I would hit a bump I was worried that it would fall off. I will send you a link for the thing that I bought to get the parts. I would do it now but I am on my work computer.
I loved being stationed in San Diego it is one of my favorite places to live. |

Not a problem, I dont have any pictures of the actual installation but I will give you step by step.
The first piece is a mount that fits into the cigerette lighter and then you plug the Garmin into it. I took the bottom part that fits into the lighter off. Use the bolt and wing nut. I dropped the wing nut into the truck somewhere so I went to Lowes and got a small nut. This works better then the wing nut, it allows more room to get turn the heater controls. http://www.thegpsstore.com/Arkon-Lig...P1861C210.aspx Drill a hole in the side of the panel and push the bolt through. It is easier if you take the dash apart, or course I didn't do this part and struggled for an hour to get my big monster paw into the dash. Use an exacto knife to cut the plastic on the mount so that you can adjust the angle of it better. I cut about 3/4 inch back so that I could adjust it to where I wanted it. Here is the part that I used to hard wire it to the fuse block, I just fished the wire through the back of the dash. Use an add a fuse to connect it to the fuse panel. I don't have power windows so I just used that circuit. http://www.thegpsstore.com/Gilsson-G...P1718C210.aspx Then I added the antenna and ran it trough the dash as well. I drilled a hole at an angle between the bottom of the radio and the top of the heater controls to run the wire through. http://www.thegpsstore.com/Gilsson-M...-P648C210.aspx Then I took some electrical tape and made it look nice. That is pretty much it. It was definately easier to take the dash apart and work on the radio surround instead of trying to do it in the truck. |

That is pretty much what I did with mine. I put it in the outlet closest to the passenger side in the truck but it got in the way of the drink holder when the wife was riding. With the location that it is in now there is lots of room. It does block the heater controls a little but not to bad.
I am glad I could help. |
