    Side note:
All Tacoma 4x4s have the same diffs except for the TRDs and then only the rear is different.

Well, it gets a little trickier there. The 2.7L trucks have 4.10 gears and the 4.0L truck have 3.?? (Not sure exaclty). The regular 4x4 and TRD sport ring gears are interchangable, but not the TRD Offroad uses a different size.

The front and rear diff carriers are different from eachother and use different ring and pinions.

So is this guy giving out both diffs and gears or just back? front?

He says "diffs" plural so I assume he means front and rear. He had to change ring gears in both anyway. I don't know if he locked the front, but he may have had to get a new carrier for the front anyway with such a high ratio.

I know the 2.7 and the 4.0 are different gear ratios. I was saying that the 4.0's all have the same size ring gear. Even though they are listed as a 8.4" on the non TRD, and 8" on the TRD, they are, in fact, both 8" size. The difference is the carier. The Off Road has a different one to house the locking action.

The ring gears are the same diameter, but are not interchangable.

Looks like this is just the carrier, ring gear and pinion. Factory gears are difficult to find. You probably don't need the carrier, but the gears would do you fine.

Thanks for the interest, I have two guys lined up for them. Just trying to clean house and a shame to just toss them. Yes it is front and rear 3:73's and no they are not interchangable.

Did you install a locker in the front or just had to get a new carrier for the new ratio?
