Anybody want to trade my Chrome Grille surround for a base black one, or a color matched SSM?



My trucks got nearly 60K miles, it has normal wear but I am not aware of any damage to it.

I hate how our Off Roads come with chrome, it reminds me of G-ride shit every time i look at my truck.

 

It should have came with black, to go with the mirrors/handles, IMHO.

 

I think it shouldve just came matched with the color of the trucks including the handles and mirrors like the sports..

enter your year, model and make, then put 1E7 for the SSM color... its about 20 bucks and you can paint it yourself! Good Luck

 

i dont think it should have came black, they should all come color matched, black imo doesnt match the vehicle, the grill is designed to seemlessly contour to the front of the vehicle, which happens to be the color of the vehicle. So imo it should all be the same color.

Good luck but your better off just buying a used/new grill or getting your painted, I payed 100$ to have mine painted and im sure you could get it done for cheaper than that.

 

I found somebody w/ a SSM one a while back looking to switch. He ended up buying a chrome one from somebody and shipping me the SSM... just have patience.

One thing to note... if your truck is a 2005-2008, the grill won't be exactly the same as the 2009-10s. I have a 2006 and the guy whose grill I bought has a 2009. The inside of the grill I received is dark gray instead of black. No big deal, but just be prepared if somebody w/ a 2009+ offers a trade or sale that the black part on your grill will be dark gray on theirs.

I could be wrong... I thought it changed in 2009. At a minimum, I'd just ask the person sending (if it even matters to the OP).

I think you're right. I'm pretty sure in 09 they changed from black inside to the gunmetal color.
