do these front struts provide the lift by adjusting where the coil sits? or is it not the strut that does the lifting?

 

^Yes the coils are doing the lifting by adjusting where they sit. The grooves in the second pic is how you adjust the height that the truck will sit at. The settings are 0,.85,1.75,2.5. Hope this helps you out.
