What's the difference between hub and lug centric? I have a 1st Gen and I might possibly want them, would they mess up my ride?

This has been talked about in this forum probably 400 times, if you search you'll see each side of the argument, but in brief summary...

Basically what it is is that a Hub-Centric model would utilize the center hub as well as the lugs for support, while a Lug-Centric model puts all of the weight on the lugs. Most after-market wheels are Lug-Centric, which is why I would argue that they are perfectly fine to use, but many people on this forum would say that they are not very safe. I ran them on my 5 lug to get the wheels poked out of my wheel wells a bit, but I wouldn't put Lug-Centrics on my 4x4.
