how wide does the bike rack spread apart.i have a 2nd gen taco

 

WIDE. i believe i have mine on the 2nd slot, and it still has 6 slots. we put it in a silverado and it still has a lot of extension. it can fit 4 bikes if you add 2 more attachments.
