    I just took these off my truck at 18,000 miles (all pavement miles). I put 5100's on this past weekend and want to get rid of these. $100.00

    The black you see on the shock is extra coating that the previous owner had sprayed on the frame to protect from rust. It appears to be some sort of bedliner type spray.
