Trade Chrome Grill For Black Grill

I've got a 2007 Tacoma with a chrome grill. I want to put in the black one, because my truck is black. Willing to trade straight up. If interested, let me know...

 

there is a guy on ttora looking to buy a chrome grill you could sell yours and just buy a black one, just an idea

I also had the factory chrome grille and wanted black. I removed the chrome (it's only a plastic piece snapped on top of the black grille). It came off rather easily. The only thing you'll need is some Goof-off to remove the glue used to attach the foam cushions to the grille underneath the chrome. I thought it looks pretty good and it got me where I wnat to be or now (not a big chrome fan).

 

There are some good suggestions as far as painting is concerned.

3M Rubberized Undercoating works well for the factory look- little bit of texture and kinda matte color or Duplicolor has a "Tire" paint for rims that is suspossed to stand up to abuse pretty wel.

Just another idea.
