I updated the menu to include a "refresh rate" setting, so you can set it from as fast as 50 milliseconds up to 4 seconds.

I realized that just the vibration of the truck WILL throw off the accelerometer since each small movement translates as acceleration. Once I figure out how to include the gyroscope in the calculations it should prevent that.

For now the incline values will still change from vibrations, it's just won't be as noticeable if the screen only updates once very second or so. :)

You can get one at the store: http://store.camerontech.io/products/offroad-cpu-core Note that I've pulled the compass functionality out of the code for now.

    It's time!!

I got word that the circuit boards are on the way so let's do this! I've opened up the store and you can purchase starting right NOW! (I'll take 2-3 days to actually get the circuit boards so the first shipments won't go out until the end of next week).

    http://store.camerontech.io/products/offroad-cpu

As a thank you to everyone for sticking in there and being so supportive throughout this process, use the coupon code TACOMAWORLD during checkout and get 10% off.

I only have the most popular screen colors in stock (based on the poll above) so if you're ordering one of the less popular ones there will be a 2-3 day delay in me shipping your order while I want for the screen (I'll email you to let you know if this is you).

I've got enough parts in stock to make 25 of these, so if more than that are purchased then I'll have to re-order several parts but it should still only be a 2-3 day delay. Again I'll let you know if this is you.

Feel free to post questions/comments here, or through a PM, or email: rob@camerontech.io I've also got forums setup specifically for this thing: http://forums.camerontech.io

    Thanks again everyone!

When do you expect to have the units with the enclosures?

After I send out this first batch of orders I'll have some time to look into building one, or seeing if I can source something that already exists and will work. I would guess it would be a couple months, though. Sorry!

Yeah I found a supplier in Taiwan that makes them, but it costs $60 just to ship one here! I was going to wait and see if there's enough demand to justify ordering a couple dozen of them to offset that shipping charge...

    That is ok!

Just weighing the options. If an enclosed version was going to show up in a week or two, it would make sense for me to wait a bit to see what that was going to be like.

Yeah, I'm torn on what to do. I could make them myself out of wood/aluminum for a kind of retro look, but I don't know how it would hold up on a dashboard for weeks or months or years of hot/cold cycles.

If I had a 3D printer I could print them, but the one I'd love to get (which will leave a nice smooth surface and look pro) is $3,200. But once that cost is out the way each print is fairly cheap.

There are third-party services like Shapeways that will 3d print whatever you want if you send them the files. This might be a viable option but each print will be really expensive (compared to what I can actually sell the enclosure for).

I could mass produce them but now we're talking about tens of thousands of dollars to create injection molds. Once that cost is out of the way it's like pennies per enclosure, though.

Finally I could see if there's anything out there that already exists that I could re-purpose. I'm guessing that my sensor board jutting out at a 90° angle is something most case makers probably don't plan for, but we'll see.

Then after all of that I need to find a suction-cup window attachment that's half-way decent.

Well, to me,the big upfront investment in injection molds would probably not be the way to go because it makes inevitable changes prohibitively expensive.

Good luck figuring it out. I am sure you will find the solution.

I think 3d printing is your best bet for enclosures

Yeah I don't think machining enclosures would be very cost effective either :/ the boss man said no to my idea.
