I suppose that's allowed. My chrome bumper is pretty solid too. I've been impressed by the hits it's taken.

 

had a bridge give way under me last weekend off roading plowed my front end into the bank filled the holes with dirt and bent my license plate. no other damage. I was expecting something in my front end to bent but my bumper took the beating. I was impressed.
