it's not really an apples to apples comparison if the price is expressed in different currencies. ie: you wouldn't say 1m is close enough to 3' and just go with it would you? of course not, thats just plain ridiculous.

 

For what we are doing here , 3' is a metre .

You completely missed the point of this thread which started as a spoof on the Americans pissing and moaning that gas MIGHT reach $5 a gallon this summer , when at the time I started this thread lots of us in Canada were already paying that .

PS the current .04 difference in currency adds .15 per gallon US for anyone that cares

My speeding habit is getting expensive

 

$5.56 / US gallon un-adjusted and expressed in Canadian currency

 

sigh... thats almost depressing to look at...

 

looks like "a little pissy" was on the conservative side.

My point is that if you're going to convert price per L (Canadian) to price per gallon (American) for price comparison purposes it only makes sense to convert to US$ for a true apples to apples comparison.

Thing is, none of us really care. It's not like I'm planning a trip to Canada and want to have the trip planned down to the cent. The fact OZ is converting to gallons is good enough for me
