I would do a weekend meetup too, if it was Nanaimo or North. I have legitimate access to IT property as well, at least on the north island.

Well the snow wheeling plan kinda took a shit. I know theres a bit of wet snow up at mt washington but on the hills and FSR's around Nanaimo there's no snow that I know of.

Anyone know of some decent snow on accessible roads on the mid-island?

Bump. Any snow anywhere? Been beautiful this past couple weeks. I have worn shorts twice so far. Great for life. Bad for off road snow wheeling.

I was up wheeling in Sooke last week on some logging roads and side trails. It was a good time. Not a speck of snow and I was super happy. The snowbank in my yard is now over 8'. Haha

Yeah, I was there feb 15th-26th. Couldn't believe I was still in Canada. I wore a t-shirt most days, grass was green, loved it. If I could find a job there I would move in an instant. I came home to the east coast and found a good 1-2 feet of snow in the driveway with nice layers of ice throughout so I couldn't snow-blow it. Blah

I know it's been a little nicer than normal February weather but even your worst is better than our best.

My sister lives in Berwick and I have been hearing all about it. There was a half ton truck on her road buried in snow above the roof. I haven't even used my heated mirrors once this year. My neighbour woke me up one morning last week with his lawn mower. I miss the snow.

I'd miss it too, like my herpes when they aren't inflamed.

Hey Kevin, I'm in Victoria as well and want to get out more. I have a stock truck, but if you ever just want to go for some FSR/light trails/mud I would be extremely happy to go! Hopefully be getting a lift soon too, so that should help.

Isn't everywhere pretty much closed due to the wildfire risk level ?

Yeah a lot of places are closed right now, I may be wrong but I think the fog zone (renfrew area) has been opened back up.

It's mostly to protect the many ecosystems alive on the beach. It's a good thing. I'm happy keeping my truck as far away from salt as I can anyway. These frames don't need any help rusting out.

Level 5 fire just east of Lake Cowichan just sprung up last night right near Skuts falls. Suspected to be human caused. That's about 5 minutes up the road from my buddies cabin that has been in his family for two generations.

Only a handful of beaches in all Canada that you can actually drive on. It's really bad for the beach. Bad for plants, creatures, and oil spots in the sand ruins a good beach day.
