Gas in venezuela is wicked cheap. I'm gonna buy a tanker ship and bring some up here!

 

OK, so let me get this straight Roy, you post a thread to deride us stoopid amuricans about how be are bitching and whining about gas prices but you Canads have to start bitching and whining about your gas prices too? What you guys feel left out up there? We just having too much fun?

 

Americans cry at $3.50 / gallon

We get grumpy at $5.50 / gallon

 

I understand we have enjoyed low prices compared to the rest of the western world, what gets me is the huge jump it has made in the last 10 years with no cost of living increase. the cost here is 4.31/gal

Just paid 1.52$ CDN per L last night... sadly rumor mill has it that the gas prices should be around 1.75$ this summer for me....

Heard Canada was doing away with the penny. They'll probably just round everything UP to make up for it.

Just some simple facts for all the DB's that wonder why Venezuela has cheap gas it's because they aren't dependent on foreign oil.

In the 70's when the oil embargo caused major issues they were the only country to implement public policy that allows them to export energy instead of import.

All countries should look at their model and use it to help it's economy's and citizens.

They use inedible switchgrass instead of edible corn for ethanol so people's food cost doesn't get driven up + switch grass is actually cost effective to use unlike corn.

 

The penny is not being produced anymore and is being taken out of circulation , however it is still legal tender until they are all gone . Cash transactions are going to be rounded up or down to the nearest nickel , debit and credit transactions can still be any amount ( ie $x.99 )

 

Perhaps if BP (British/Canadian owned) wouldn't let a broken pipelines dump millions of gallons of oil into the ocean for over a month before deciding to fix it....they wouldn't have to charge so much a year later to recoop the loss of revenue.

 

Some would call that losing...
