Finally. Except we were told at work to go to the bank and stock pile up on them so we can continue to use them

How? It's just a penny. No way. Lol. Unless it was a mistake one. The only penny I know of that is worth a ton like that are the 1943 copper pennies.

My bad , it was a 1936

1936 dot cent

The rare 1936 dot cent is as notable in Canadian numismatics as the 50˘ piece of 1921. There are only three known specimens of this coin, produced with the dot to show they were made in 1937 while the mint was waiting for new dies due to a delay caused by the abdication of King Edward VIII and the need to create new dies for his successor, George VI. The last one sold at Heritage Auctions in January 2010 for over $400,000 (this does not include taxes). It was graded specimen 66 by the Professional Coin Grading Service. All three known examples are in private collections, making it one of the few coins lacking in the Ottawa Currency Museum.

Boss was buying something from the vending machine, noticed that he had an older nickle. He asked if I had a nickle, gave him a dime.
He gave me the change, then offered me the old nickle.

I rolled my eyes and said "Why? I'm just going to drop it in the machine tomorrow"
